Team members at Fairfield Tubular Operations hosted an event today to celebrate the Feb. 11 announcement that construction on a technologically advanced EAF will resume this year. U. S. Steel and United Steelworkers leaders were on hand and joined by local, county and state elected officials.

The new EAF will have an annual raw steelmaking capability of 1.6 million net tons and represents an investment of approximately $215 million in our future.
