Following up with the 30" cooling water pipe work from last week, we are nearly done on the underground portion of this task with all the pipe laid and ready for validation.

Just around the corner to the water pipe work is the electric arc furnace melt shop.  There, the construction crew is working on the foundation for the furnace rocker.  This is a critical part of EAF for two reasons: It supports the transferring of molten metal from the furnace into the ladle, and the eccentric design of the platform also acts as a safety feature that will self-level in the event of system malfunction.

Zooming out from the rocker, the melt shop taking its shape with the end walls erected and we can also see completed conveyor system just above the crew working aboard a man lift near the bottom right hand corner.
