Earlier this week, the partially assembled furnace was lifted into place onto the tilt platform just above the lower shell. Read on for a photo and other activities around the EAF construction site.
In the photo below, the furnace is on top of the tilt platform. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, but a great milestone for the team at Fairfield!

Adjacent to the melt shop, crews are making good progress inside the rounds caster area. Pillars are erected for the cooling bed that will be used for rounds exiting the caster.
