To counter the effects of the Alabama summer heat, some of the biggest tasks have to start at the beginning of the day -- literally.
Concrete is poured for the SVC, or the Static VAR Compensator, station
The concrete pour for our static VAR compensator (SVC) station started shortly after midnight, and lasted until early afternoon that same day. Over 600 cubic yards of cement was used for the foundation, and by starting the job at night when the ambient temperature is the lowest, we will get the strongest concrete slab in return.
